This week we have a few little reminders of the ways you can spread kindness to people by simply paying attention to what is going on in their world. We want to specifically focus on friends or family who may be in the hospital or going through sickness. This was inspired by a friend whose baby was in the hospital recently. Listed below are some of the ways others lifted burdens off of her families shoulders.
-One night they ordered pizza and the delivery person told them that somebody at the restaurant had heard the person taking the order say “ children’s hospital” and they paid for the whole bill
-Her family cleaned her house for her
-Her coworkers jumped in and worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for her.
- The children's hospital gave them Christmas presents
All of these things took little effort but were ways of showing this family that they had support in a hard time. It lifted some of the burdens off of their shoulders and reminded them that they were cared for.
Often times we take the things in our life for granted and it is easy to get caught up in our own day to day routines. Yet if we pause, we will see that others need our light and love and that it can be something as simple as showing up when life is tough.
This week we want to challenge you to find somebody in your life who could use a reminder that they aren’t alone and find a way to lift a few of their burdens off of their shoulders!
Maybe its through a hand written letter, or buying someone a coffee or taking them some soup if they are feeling under the weather. Whatever it is, we would love to hear your story of how you brought more kindness into this world!
